Project Goal:
Establishing a dedicated multidisciplinary clinic for women in menopause, integrating medical, emotional, and physical support alongside community and educational activities to raise awareness, with the aim of enabling women to navigate this life stage with stability, health, and a sense of well-being.

Project Description:
Menopause is a natural stage in a woman’s life, yet it is often accompanied by physical, hormonal, and emotional changes that negatively affect quality of life. Many women do not seek treatment due to lack of knowledge, shame, stigma, or the feeling that this is “something one must go through alone.” At the same time, medical teams sometimes lack the knowledge and tools required for appropriate care, as this subject is scarcely covered in medical training and specializations.
The “Shalhevet” Project seeks to change this reality by establishing a dedicated clinic for women in menopause at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera. The clinic will bring together, under one roof, a gynecologist, a psychologist, and additional professionals, offering comprehensive medical and emotional care. In addition, the clinic will work to raise community awareness through workshops and lectures, produce educational materials, and provide training for medical teams within the public healthcare system.
The initiative will also include broad educational activities in collaboration with HMOs, community organizations, and community centers. These will include workshops for women, lectures for medical staff, and professional study days. Close engagement with the culturally and demographically diverse community in the Hadera region will enable tailored programming, including the dissemination of information in multiple languages.
In the longer term, the clinic will work to expand its activities, establish itself as a permanent service, and train “change ambassadors” who will carry the knowledge and approach into the wider community. The vision is to embed the clinic as an integral part of the hospital’s gynecological services and to bring about a systematic improvement in the quality of life of women in menopause.
