The physical and emotional changes that come with childbirth can lead to difficulties that affect the mental well-being of the mother, child and other family members. This project aims to support and treat women with prior mental health challenges, in the first months of motherhood.
The treatment includes group therapy for mothers and infants, focusing on topics like postpartum depression, attachment issues, and emotional and developmental difficulties. The group will meet weekly for 12 sessions, allowing mothers to consult and connect with others facing similar struggles. The program will also provide specialized intervention from a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.

Project leaders:
Sharon Baumel: Senior clinical psychologist, responsible for the child development clinic at Rambam.
Hadar Torres Harari: Developmental psychologist, specializing in child and parent therapy.
Dr. Noga Shiffman: Psychiatrist specializing in women's mental health post-birth and research on mental health within medical teams.
